OK, I have an insight 17 monk that has been hunting in the dark maze since he was insight 14. Out of hundreds of dunans killed, I haven't found a single dark belt! This is no joke, but I'm thinking I've been in there for at least 8-9 hours with absolutely no success. His stats are 20, 7, 7, 9, and 7. He's got 3 more insights to go before I have to start purposely getting scars so I can push back my EXP. Just wondering if there are any tips to DB hunting. I've heard that they drop more often in the nightgaunt room, but so far, this hasn't been the case for me. Also, just to hear some stories, list your frustrations with the dark maze. Here's one from me: I had killed every thing in the nightgaunt room, and as I was walking backk through to go to another room, he missed me with a mor dubh. I believe I peed my pants just a little right then. Another time I was hunting in there with a wizard, and while we were killing a dunan, the nightgaunt must have been on the other side of the wall and mor dubhed him, instant death! Then I had to lure the nightgaunt away so that when he came back, he could pick up his death pile. One more thing. As of late, I've met some people in the dark maze that swear up and down that the creatures in there don't cast any spells. This isn't true. There have been a few occasions where I have been hit with beag dubh from the dunans, and like I said above, mor dubh by the nightgaunts. Althought it is very rare that they cast it, it still happens occasionally. Well, I'm off to go do more Dark Belt hunting. Wish me luck, and to any other dark belt hunters, I wish you luck as well! why are you huntin darkbelts, your a rogue, go hunt in EW, pick up gold, when you get around 2m-3m, buy a db.

Where in EW has large money drops that an insight 68 rogue can handle? How long would it take to accumulate that kind of money? I do have about 20 ghast and gargoyle skulls each, but it's hard to find buyers for them. Also, I may just quit hunting DBs for a while. When you have 19 peices of talgonite and no DBs, you start getting frustrated. At least my rogue will be able to polish for the next deoch! Thanks.

If you had friends you could get a db for free or for super cheap. As for the money drops, its not that the drops are especially large or anything, they just add up. A rogue (should) take very few hits while soloing, so pretty much everything you get is profit.

Dbs seem to be having a big drop rate, in 2 days i hunted 14 dbs. Try to go in 1 hour before or after teh reset.

Yes yes! After resets is an awesome time. I was hunting and lucked out, a reset occured. I logged back on and killed 3 or 4 dunan, getting 2 belts! And get this, one of the dunan dropped a talos ring, a piece of talg, and a dark belt!

Nope.
Plus youd lose all your money getting all the rare items for your monks skills.

dark belts will only be a good source of money for a couple months longer.....
its all about supply and demand....
since the dark belts arent perishable the demands slowly declines as more people get them and the price drops since nobody really needs one...

3 days...No Dark Belts. I think the dropping system is based on your level o.o I have a Level 16 monk and never drops ;p ever. Not too long ago I had a level 38 warrior, dropped a lot o.o!

psst! Just ask someone to hunt CR then ask for a spare db then log dont use him for like a week and they forget. ( lost 6 dbs that way, i forget there names... )

yep.. thats the way i lost most of mine too.. but hey..i hunt them myself so now and then .. and they do make nice weddinggifts or for your students lol

but well.. sometimes im lucky and find 3 in 1 hour, sometimes im unlucky and go there for 4 hours and dont find anything, but.. I have an idea.. pick up the raw talg too.. and sell them to rogues.. they polish them again to finished to sell, so they would like it.. hehe..

whenever i've hunted db's i go in at like 4:00am gmt....noone ever there then...i've been in 2 hours and come out with 12 before..i usually get quite a lot whenever i've hunted them

I go to hosted arena and pick up newbies Dark Belts when they ask the host "Can you hold my Dark Belt for me until the Arena is over?" I got 5 Dark Belts that day!

I have only been in the maze 2 times with my warrior and the first time I had to kill 3 before the one dropped, the second time the first kill was with a belt so I figured I couldnt get any luckier so I left.

I think it is 1 dark belt generated every 10-20 mins I was once told...

Thats what I did back in deoch 20 when I didnt have any money.

Was hidden down the crypt and picked up the great bat's wings and scorp stings the masters hunting succies left behind.
5k for each scorp sting and 7k5 for the great bat wings. Not good, but not bad either.

Went in with a 24 insight rogue. Within five minutes of walking in (and on the first larva I attacked) I had a dark belt. I guess luck has a big factor in it. Another person that was hunting there for around 4 hours only was able to pick up 3 of them.

DArk maze is amazing, and respawn is unsure. some times i get 2 dbs in 2 straight kills. Also, if you are on maze 2, dont use a db, because monsters attack is light, and dubh spell is also light O_o.

but there is other ways on how to make money, sell the talos of the banks, or polish it, then sell to people for like 50-100k each
get 25 finished talos and people will pay 5mill, ive seen someone pay 25mill for 25finsihed talos once...

Just an update....With my Monk character, I spent roughly 9 hours in the Dark Maze with no luck at all. Yesterday, with my warrior, I got 2 Dark Belts in about 45 minutes. Found them both in the Nightgaunt room. I even helped 2 people who got lost in the maze do the small heart of fire! I feel like such a good samaritan!
