Double Punch Change animation?

This have been bugging me ever since I saw the first war/monk some odd years ago. Why is it that war/monks are the only kind of monks who get to choose what assail animation to use?

All the monk armors can show both monk assail (the silly punch) and normal assail, just that none of the monk assails use that animation.

This is rather annoying, considering that almost no headgear, except for dugons and master stuff, "works" with monk assail. In fact, the pure GM monk weapon is not even compatible with the monk assail, the pheonix claws goes invisible when you assail.

A simple solution would be to change doublepunch animation to use that of default assail, instead of copying the character's "assail" animation.

That way any monk, and not just war/monks, can choose what animation to use instead of being forced to only use the monk one.

If you put Assail before Double Punch, you do the assail animation.
I'm mentally incompetent and all of my posts should be disregarded, as all of them are pure BS.

No..uh..why does it matter at all? If you do two handed attack while facing down or right (Camera), every sword is missing like 2 frames out of the animation, and you don't see me complaining. Dune Swipe and Strikedown make me bald with no Shield/Sword when I use them, too, unless I just have a Dane Blade/Arglon on. :P

Assail animation with no weapon is what looks silly. Monks are supposed to punch. That's what we do.

I think it'd be far better if they just fix the bald/weaponless animation problem, but that's just me. A monk slapping his enemy to death looks just too corny... ^^

That would solve part of the problem.

However I happen to like the slapping animation more than the stressed "poke-you-in-the-eye" posture. Corny or not, the slapping is still better.

Considering, that I appear to be the only one with that problem, I guess Ill just have to suffer through a war/monk so I can get it.

Its all good they just need to fix the animation cuz DA sucked back in the day when even a normal assail made you looked bald and shoeless

Wrong. That only works if you have a Weapon equipped (non wolfclaw)

Normal assail for war cause it aint a war skill so they cant do it right,
for monk be punches cause monks do that.

So leave it be.

First off the regular assail is a swing and last time i checked I wasnt glove slapping monsters in the face with my phoenix claws. Next clearly you dont know how to punch as a real punch (as in not swinging a weapon) you follow through getting that straight and full body powerd punch.

My warmonk uses the slap animation. I just thinks it looks kinda funny when she does it. Even more ironic is that with the regular assail, claws dissappear, but with the slap they don't.

That is my point, most war/monks use the slap because it is more compatible with gear (and because it is slightly faster, so you can assail and mover better).

Now the reason I suggested changing double punch is because it would give the monks the CHOICE, to use either animation.

Any monk would still be able to use the old one simply by having assail first in their skillpage, just like they now can use the kick by placing triple kick first. I dont see any reason why they shouldnt do this.
