Full Version: Da Indirectly Running On Another Device It Shouldn't
Planet Dark Ages > DarkAges > DA General > [DA] DarkAges Utilities
Stadsport
Yeah I'm a gigantic [filtered]got.
Lufie
lol da portable
Skee
rofl, I was wondering if it'd work on an iphone:(
I plan on getting one after the first upgrade to them~ (whenever that is, not too worried)
OneWithTraps~
so this is why people are completely incapable of playing DA while on the phone
Gasheiro
Sadly I'd get it just to be able to play DA on long drives for vacations. :(
Deano
Indirectly running a [filtered] game on a [filtered] phone, how appropriate D:.

I don't understand all this tech stuff Stadsport (and I'm lazy to look around for information), can you explain to me how it works and why you say "indirectly"?

I'm running DA on a virtual Windows machine on my MacBook, and my iPhone is remotely connecting to the macbook to display/control it.
OneWithTraps~
aka "because a phone can't run DA"
Skorpse
So, how would you use skills/spells with that? :P
Skee
touchscreen, so I wonder if he can click the icon on the menu then click the target for spells.

Also, iPhones are incredibly expensive but from what I've seen, they're awesome:( I'd prefer it over like a blackberry~
beefnoodl
Interesting
OneWithTraps~
It's probably pretty capable, I'm guessing the biggest problem would be delay of commands.
Nlky
I never saw the purpose in this.
Akuhei
Now to get Darkages to work with TV + Wiimote.

I'm thinking about it.

I'm thinking about it.

So do it! lol

Actually I would really rather just be able to run DA natively (or emulated) on an iPodTouch/iPhone but that would be actual work...

Played DA on my grandfathers http://www.samsung.com/us/experience/produ...EXPRV_SEQ=10065 over christmas and casting with a touch screen rocks, I must admit.
Skorpse
Addict much?
Bywyd
I remote desktop with my archos so I can macro but keep an eye on my pc in the living room. Its like being infront of the PC without actually being there. Take that 'the man'.
Rakada
That's just awesome.

I want to cast with a touchscreen =(

And be able to macro on my cellphone.

The amount of ignorant comments people make amaze me.

First of all, the iPhone has all the hardware needed to run DA, given a homemade native client made for it. The phone runs Mobile OS X 10.1.3, which has probably twice the requirements of Dark Ages.

The problem is that you would have to make the client, from scratch, using the tentative iPhone SDK soon-to-be released. Possible? Yeah. Practical? Probably not. Going to Happen? See former question.

However, it COULD be done, and if it was done, I would laugh my ass off. Perhaps when the SDK comes out I will look into it for [filtered]s and giggles, as I do have an iPhone myself.

It IS possible and no, the iPhone is not [filtered]ty by the way. Seriously, what makes it [filtered]ty? Wait till the SDK comes out and then it will rape, exponentially.

I did this on a Sprint PPC6700 at one point but the game was basically unplayable other than walking around...

Easy to do if you use your tv as a monitor.

Have your wii powered on so the IR bar is working (or get a battery one) & get yourself a usb bluetooth connecter :o

Theres unofficial wii remote drivers for windows :p
SiLo
I'll try it with AppleTV sometime. I got AppleTV and WoW working so I'd imagine DA wouldn't be much different. :D
Feretus
I haven't read a ton into it but if it works on the iPhone it will work fine on the iPod Touch as well?
SiLo
Technically, yes, you'd just need a WiFi connection (DA could work on EDGE and that's amusing).
